EcoReps

Having an EcoRep in each church community is a good way to keep a focus on the environment and on moving towards net zero carbon. As an EcoRep you might help monitor energy usage and help completion of the annual Energy Footprint Tool and raise ideas such as not holding meetings in church in winter, or varying service times with the seasons, or biodiversity in the church grounds.

Your church EcoRep might find the time to make a start on the Practical Path to Net Zero Carbon checklist, to read the Routemap document, and follow the links on this website and the Church of England environment section.

The Environment Action Group has elected Cheryl Cousins as our lead on EcoChurch, someone to whom you as EcoRep can turn for support and advice.

There are Church of England resources available too, such as

Webinars on Caring for God’s Acre.
