The Environment Action Group (EAG) was established as one of the policy aims of a new Environmental Policy by the Diocese of Sodor and Man in June 2022. The EAG supports the role of the Diocesan Environment Officer (DEO).
The group generally meets every two months and has decided to try for meetings in or near churches around the island that are actively working to lower their carbon footprint.
Almost every church or Parish now has an EcoRep, someone who helps keep the environment and net zero in the forefront of everyone’s minds, perhaps leads on EcoChurch (see Biodiversity page) and other, local environmental initiatives. Half of our churches are registered as EcoChurches.
